Benchtop X-ray spectrometer competes for Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award 2017
Dr Moniek Tromp and Monalisa Goswami MSc of the Van ‘t Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences have reached the finals of the 2017 Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award. Their benchtop X‐Ray Absorption Spectrometer is one of ten projects selected by the jury. On 21 June the winner will be announced during a festive award ceremony. Online voting for the Audience Award is open until 20 June.

Tiddo Mooibroek nominated for New Scientist talent award
Chemist Tiddo Mooibroek of the Van ‘t Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences (HIMS) is among the 25 young scientists nominated for the 2017 ‘Wetenschapstalent’ award of the Dutch edition of New Scientist. After scrutiny by a jury and a public vote the winner will be announced by Nobel laureate Ben Feringa on 22 June. Voting starts today on the newscientist.nl website.
