Netherlands’ Chemistry & Catalysis Award 2009 for Bert Weckhuysen
Bert Weckhuysen (Utrecht Univerity) has been awarded with the first Netherlands’ Chemistry & Catalysis Award 2009. This award has been handed over at the 10th Catalysis conference (NCCC) in Noordwijkerhout on 2 March 2009. He received this prize, a plaque and a cheque of €10,000, for his outstanding spectroscopic research studying the effect of heterogeneous catalysts.
The Netherlands’ Chemistry & Catalysis Award is given every five years to academic or industrial scientists who have carried out in the past ten years outstanding research regarding the understanding and practice of catalysts in The Netherlands or Belgium. The prize is sponsored by the Industrial Advisory Board to NIOK (VIRAN) and the KNCV-Catalysis.
