NCCC-XI: poster and lecture awards

4. 3. 2010 | Susan

The successful eleventh Netherlands’ Catalysis and Chemistry Conference (NCCC-XI) has been visited by over 550 participants from The Netherlands and abroad, having a background in academe and/or industry. Inspiring keynote speakers

have been able to attract the attention of the participants which resulted in many animated discussions scattered over the three days. Next to the various lecture and poster sessions, PhD students and post-docs obtained better insights into their career opportunities at the very much appreciated Career Development & Opportunities session. Also the NIOK PhD Platform presented itself with a very nice Pub Quiz and announced among others the upcoming BASF Company Visit (for more details see NPP).
Each year poster and lecture awards have been handed over to promising young scientists:

The awards for the best posters at NCCC-XI were awarded to Peter Ngene (Utrecht University, right) and Regina Palkovits (Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, Mülheim an der Ruhr). The prizes consist of a plaque and € 500, sponsored by VIRAN.
The NRSC-C/NIOK lecture awards (plaque and € 500) were awarded to Núria Sancho Oltra (University of Groningen, left), Lachlan Campbell-Verduyn (University of Groningen, middle), and Federica Bertini (VU Amsterdam, right).
