Capturing of Carbon Dioxide by P/Al-based FLPs - publication Lammertsma group (VU) and the group of Prof W. Uhl (WVU Münster). Hydroalumination of alkynylphosphines provides a facile approach to geminal phosphorus/aluminum-based Frustrated Lewis Pairs (FLPs), which are ideally suited for small-molecule activation (e.g. carbon dioxide, see picture). The full potential of these readily available frustrated Lewis pairs for (catalytic) small molecule activation and derivitisation is currently being explored in our laboratories.
